I made this baby pixie hat for a baby shower I am going to tonight, for Beth and baby Jack.
I put on some extra buttons, to make the strap smaller, if need be. He’s an itty, bitty little thing right now.
I got so excited last night about finished the sweater vest. I sewed up the sides and put it on… it doesn’t fit. Sometimes my whims work out, and sometimes not at all. So, the front half fits, which is good, but the back half is baggy in weird places.. I’m not really sure how to fix it, even. But I might just take the back half, unravel it, leave it for a few weeks and then take it out and work on it again. I think it just needs to be left alone for a while.
But with that done, that gives me time to work on my buttony sweater!
Working on the little lamb. I’ve got his legs and body done, now he just needs a head and some arms.
Baby blanket for a friend, about 1/4 done. The fabulous and fun rippley pattern that I made Ezra’s in.
And the sweater vest! I’ve got mine nearly done. The back half is almost done blocking and then I just need to sew up the sides. I’m stoked to wear it.
Ok, I know it’s weird. The front half is gray and red striped, and the back is solid red? Weird. Yes. When I went to the store, they were out of the gray, so I just bought the red instead. And figured it would just be… unique? I don’t now. I am a little scared to try it on. I should have used a pattern!
I think I’ll start piecing it together this evening. Or, maybe I’ll just go to bed early. I did work late, and I’m kind of tired.
But, one more thing before I go! I made some Artisan Bread this weekend, and I decided to shake up the recipe a bit and added olive oil and roasted red peppers. And, let me tell you, it was amazing. We’ve been eating lots of it. So, so, so good.
I came back from Tacoma with a much fatter suitcase. I could barely get it zipped. That’s because I got some awesome-tastic yarn. My mother and youngest sister Heidi decided to go to Value Village to check around. Sometimes you find some gems. I found this:

Well, 3 skeins of it, to be exact. For 99 cents. 100% wool for 99 cents! And to have them all be the matching dye lot was just above and beyond. I’m not sure what I want to make with them yet, but it’s a lovely grey color. Yum.
Then I went to Lambs Ear to just pick up a skein of the red Cascade Yarns Eco Wool to finish my sweater vest.
But then, right next to it, there was this completely gorgeous yarn…
I’m not sure what it’ll be for yet, but probably another sweater.
And I also got this lovely brown for my Buttony Sweater that is soon-to-be started.
So today I am at home, sick, again. Not too sure what’s going on with my immune system at the moment, but we’re trying to get things all healthy! So, I’m going to sleep on the couch!
No?……
How about now?
I am so looking forward to this weekend and getting to spend some time with my most favorite people on earth! (and quite frankly, the cutest little man I’ve ever met, I’m sure you all agree! I mean, just LOOK how cute he is!
I can’t wait to squish his little face, oh, and make him wear his new sweater.
I am also pretty much dying to make a pair of these for him: Cranky Pants! Aren’t they cute?
But sadly they don’t have a pattern for sale, so unless I want to buy them ($80, how about…n.o.) I may try to figure it out, but maybe I’ll just make a cute pair of striped longies. Someday, when I have kids, I hope I still have time to knit this much!
Update on P’s sweatervest: It’s coming along nicely. Just about up to the shaping of the neck (that’s where things get tricky…) so, wish my luck and as soon as something interesting happens with it I’ll be sure to post it.
I found it in one of my drawers the other day, and this week called for chocolate. I got it in Belgium, so it’s a bit old, but it still tasted good. I just wish that Charissa, Autumn and Harmony were here to enjoy it with me.
Yep, it’s chocolate with hazelnoots in it. I love hazelnoots.
It was enjoyed while drinking a tall glass of milk and working on P’s sweater vest. Wanna see? Ok.
So, ok, you can’t see any shape to it, but that’s because it’s on needles that are too short. I need to buy a new set of circular needles that are a bit longer (but hey, I’ve knitted two adult sweaters on them and it worked ok) but it’s just hard for sizing as you go… I am loving this yarn though, it’s perfectly soft, but nice and sturdy (and kind of thick, so it knits up pretty quickly)
And, another happy bit:
My basil was having rough times not getting enough sunlight, so I hung it in the window so he could get a little sun and keep growing. We are getting a bit of sun around here, and it’s be oh-so-nice.
Also did a bit of guitar work this afternoon.
Isn’t she a beaut? Still working on building up my callouses.
And also trying to work on being able to sing and play at the same time… it gets kind of hard and I’m not very good at multi-tasking, apparently.
Happy Weekend, Everyone.
So I need some help, guys. I bought this baby alpaca yarn on a whim, because of it’s gorgeous color and it’s oh-so-heavenly-softness, but I don’t know what to make out of it.
It’s worsted weight, about 102 yards, so not much.. the only thing I was thinking that I could make that small was either a Martha Neck Scarf, or maybe a hat? But I won’t be needing either of those too much longer, as spring is making its way to the Northwest…
Or maybe I should just stash it away for a fall treat?
But, let’s face it, the at least 75% of the reason I bought this was because it had a cute little baby alpaca (also known as a cria, for those in the know) on the tag.

Ok, so get your brains working and let me know what I should be making!
Aren’t they cute? My darling husband got them for my for Valentine’s Day. And brown and pink! What more could a girl ask for?
Want a sneak peek at what I am making for Ez-pez?
It’s a really fun yarn to work with. Once you go wool, you never go back.
Time for dinner- beef stroganoff tonight. Planning a giveaway this week, so keep your eyes peeled. (gross.)
Happy Tuesday.
I love seeing people wearing my knitted clothing! I shamelessly stole this picture from Kjerste, but I loved it!
Erika is wearing the Shalom sweater I made her, and Ez is wearing a hat I originally made for Wesley, but he outgrew it. Looks pretty cute on Ez, too!
