It’s windy out.

Remember all. those. blueberries? They’ve been taking up room in our freezer, and so Saturday night I got the urge to bake. I love baking, it’s so relaxing and comforting, and I’ve never made a blueberry pie before, so I thought I would be adventurous.

I’m aware that blueberries in this state don’t look too appetizing.

Mmm, prior to baking I (of course) forgot to get an afterbaking picture, but there’s nothing to be done about it now, since it’s all eaten up. Yum yum, and boy, it was tasty, we brought it to lunch with the Stevensons and Penney’s.

So, it’s been SO windy out, leaves flying everywhere, and there’s talk of some snow showers tomorrow. (Oh dear.) But it’s not supposed to stick, as the rain will supposedly come right after to wash it all away for us. I’m not ready for the snow yet! We’re hoping it holds off for at least another month.

So, that Christmas knitting I was working on is almost finished, and oh boy, I don’t think it can wait until Christmas to get to it’s recipient. It may be a “Happy Thanksgiving” gift at this point, because I am just too excited about it. I think it’s just about the coolest thing I’ve ever made, and it wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought! I will link to the pattern as soon as I give it to it’s handsome little owner, but until then, you will just have to wait in suspense! (In case you haven’t guessed, it’s handsome little owner is going to be Baby Ez, but he probably won’t care about it anyway, but I know his momma will!)

Well, my lunch break is nearly over, so back to work! Happy Monday, everyone.

Bah Humbug

Just put a good movie in, put the tea on, cuddled up with a warm blanket, started on some Christmas presents of the knit variety. (Super excited about these, oh yes), and settled down for an evening at home alone.

The rain has made it’s way to Idaho, and boy did it decide to pour down today. But I got to use my cute umbrella, so it wasn’t really all that bad. Work has been a bit… stressful. We’re having some ’employee issues’, as in, holding on to the currently employed employees. So, we’re back to square one. Or negative one, not really sure which.

Oh, in case any of you wanted to see, here is a picture of the show last weekend!

It was so much fun, and a little nerve wracking! There are some video’s but I don’t really know how to upload that, so as soon as I do, I might try to put some up.

Aftermath of a dinner party.

So the kitchen needs a little work. My kitchen is a bit tiny for the dishes of more than 2 people.

And since everyone was posting nice, lovely, fall pictures I’ll show you what it looks like outside our front door right now:
fall 001

The twin trees in our front yard that so lovingly shaded us from the intense summer sun have now begun to drop all of their leaves and spiky things that get caught in your shoes and what we’re pretty sure are chestnuts… a sticky, crumbly mess! Some poor little kid riding down our sidewalk on his bike biffed it pretty hard when he hit one of the round little chestnuts, flying face-first onto the pavement, but I’m pretty sure the leaves broke his fall a little bit.

That hat I was telling you about…

So I took some pictures of the hat before I sent it to Ez, but I won’t even bother putting those up because these are so much cuter. I shamelessly stole them from my sister, but seriously, look at this kid.

Ok, dinner guests coming in 1/2 an hour! Gotta go finish cooking dinner!

Productive Saturday

Dishes are done, bed is made, cactus is repotted, house is clean and also I got this nice little shelf up! It was a dingy white color, I painted it green and hung it up this afternoon!

*and that’s my wedding bouquet hanging in the upper right corner!

The Dead Cactus

Remember that cactus I was telling you about? The one I thought might be dead?

oct 003

Heh. I guess we’re not wondering anymore. It’s poor little head rolled right off the other day when it got bumped.

oct 004

However, this morning at the Farmer’s Market there was a nice lady in crazy pants selling Christmas Cacti. Apparently it will soon bloom pink and white blossoms.

So we’ll try not to kill it.

Failed Blogger

I could go on an on about how terrible of a blogger I am, but I won’t, because you’ve heard it all before from me.

Been working on a few little things here and there. Mailing out a little present to my nephew, I’ll post a picture once they get it in the mail, don’t want to ruin the suprise. Most of my energy has been being used in a better way lately than blogging. Getting healthy! We’ve had a sick household for the past week and a half and we are just now getting to being more than just bumps on the couch. But since we’ve had so much time to chill, we’ve caught up on our favorite TV shows and movies, and actually gotten to spend alot of time just hanging out with each other.

We have a concert this weekend, so thank goodness we’re finally feeling better! The Anymore will be performing live at the NuArt Theatre here in Moscow, 7:00pm Saturday! Yep, my husband was nice enough to let me into his band, first as a backup singer, but now I’ve got 3 or 4 songs I’m actually singin’ solo! So, it should be pretty fun! We did a small show last weekend in Pullman, but apart from that I haven’t really performed in front of anyone since college, so I’m a little nervous. Luckily, Autumn and her sisters are coming all the way out here to wish me luck and cheer me on.

I’ll try to be a better blogger, I swears it.

The Bedroom.

I have long been debating about what to do for decoration in our bedroom, the walls are big and bare and kind of look stupid if you put anything on them because it makes everything (picture frames, etc) look really small and weird.

October 007

But, with the help of Charissa and Autumn I found some fun fabric,

October 008

Hemmed it, and hung it on a tiny curtain rod. Voila. Art?

October 011

So now I notice that the bottom is a little crooked. That silky fabric was extrememly hard to sew on…

Catch up

So I am at home sick today so maybe I’ll catch up on this blogging nonsense. I really am a terrible blogger, and the more I read other people’s blogs the less inspired I am to actually blog.

Well, we had our first ever houseguests this past weekend! Charissa and Autumn came to visit and we had a grand ol’ time.

We went to the Farmer’s Market,

Got all dressed up for church,

And they helped me decorate the apartment some! Always good to have another set of eyes (or two!) helping out with decorating!

September has been grand.

Many apologies for not updating lately. We’re going through a move at work and more my spare time has been devoted to that. BUT we are done as of this afternoon and I am exhausted. Lots of heavy lifting (hundreds and hundreds of patient charts), smashed fingers (In the U-Haul door. ouch.), my hands are covered in cuts (And then dipped in Pine-Sol to make sure we left the old office bright and shining) an aching back and sore muscles. But the good news is, we are all moved into our beaaaauuutiful new office and I have my very own space. It’s lovely.

Anyhow, we did one of our whirlwind trips to Tacoma last weekend, and got to go to the fair with some of my bestest friends, and got to show Paul how awesome the Puyallup Fair really is! I didn’t take my camera because I was with lots of people who took theirs, and also because I have about 10,000 pictures of the Fair. We got to see Ezra baptized, went to lunch with the WHOLE fam (First time we’ve all been together since Christmas!) got an orthodontist appointment (Today is the first day of eating solid foods again!) and got to spend some quality time with my sweet lil’ neph! Just take a look- what a sweetie.

september 050

Oh, are you talking to me?

september 057

Um, that’s a yawn, not a scream. Just FYI.

But before we left Paul and I went to the Latah County Fair and we had a blast.

september 004
Paul liked the Lego’s best.

september 009
Lest you forget this is Idaho.

september 013Paul is surprised by tall sunflowers and large pumpkins.

september 016We ate elephant ears and listened to bluegrass.

september 017We thought this sign was funny.

september 018We rode the Ferris Wheel and then ate snowcones.

All in all it was pretty good for a small fair. We made the most out of it and had a good time. Anyhow, so there is an update or sorts. I should get around to cleaning the house and tidying up. With working late all week my poor house has been a bit neglected, but that’s what weekends are for, right?
