Barefoot and Pregnant in the Kitchen

Fridays are one of those days where I always want the house to be at least tidied by the end of the day… there’s just something so nice about going into the weekend with a clean house. Anyway, today I’ve been cleaning and baking. Yep, barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen making cookies.

Gotta at least taste the cookie dough. Soo tasty.

Busting out of my apron… Yep. I’ll be 32 weeks on Sunday. 8 more weeks! Eek. It’s getting really, really close. TWO MONTHS AWAY! Well, two months if he decides to come on time. Two hot months. Two really, really hot months. I spent the last two afternoons at the pool, sitting in the shallow end letting the water just splash over me. Whenever I get in the water little Togglebuttons goes nuts and just starts moving around and going crazy. He’s still super active, moving around all the time and trying to kick his way out through the top of my belly. (Yay, this means he is still head down, so that’s awesome!) But I am getting anxious to meet my little boy. I think we’re pretty much prepared, or at least as prepared as I can be at this point, you know? I guess we will find out when he comes!

Ok. Also, on a completely unrelated note, has anyone ever tried the “No Shampoo” deal? I am kind of curious to try it because it seems like pretty much all shampoo dries out my hair really badly, even though I use plenty of conditioner- and it doesn’t seem to depend on the expensiveness of the shampoo, either. So, I might give it a try (maybe after the baby is born and I’m going to be staying at home alot, so if I end up with greasy hair no one will see….) So, if you’ve tried it, let me know how it worked for you.

Memorial Day Fun

Paul and I went on a hike on Memorial Day, because it was surprisingly nice out! (It was supposed to be yucky out, so that was a pleasant surprise!)

We went to the old University of Idaho Arboretum, which was in FULL bloom!

I was a bit unprepared for how hard hiking is when you’re in your last trimester, though.

So we spent a lot of time resting on logs and taking a breather.

We did get plenty of bug bites during the walk though… I always forget about the bugs…

But even with the bugs, it was still really pretty. I definitely recommend that all you Moscowvites should go check out the old UI Arboretum. If I could hike it while big and pregnant, (and in flipflops, nonetheless) well then you can do it to.

But we had a great time. And then we went out for my belated Birthday lunch, since we were out of town for my actual birthday.

The waitress brought out this ginormous piece of cake as a surprise. Seriously, between Paul and I we only ate about 1/3 of it. It was a very, very large cake.

And then we took a little walk through the Lawson Gardens in Pullman and there were so many tulips in bloom!

Are you tired of looking at flower pictures yet? Well, too bad, I’ve got a few more.

Ok, we’re almost done.

Ok, nearly done.

Alright, I’m done with the flowers. For now.

Did you do anything exciting for Memorial Day?

My Baby Brother Gets Married.

This past weekend my baby brother got hitched! It was a beautiful ceremony.

Aaron and his new bride, Cynthia!

My brothers and my dad.

Aaron and Cynthia, just after getting married! Aren’t they adorable?

Erika and Ezra, right before the wedding.

Me, Paul and baby Toggle-buttons. (23 weeks and counting!)

Aaron and Cynthia’s first dance!

Youngest sister, Heidi, getting ready to send off the happy couple.

On their way to Santa Cruz!

Isn’t she the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!

We’re so beyond happy for you, Aaron and Cynthia! Congratulations!

In other exciting news, my bestie Autumn had her baby on my BIRTHDAY! How exciting is that? The best birthday present ever! Welcome to the world, Ezra William!

Isn’t he just a perfect little bundle of cuteness? I got a chance to snuggle him and get my baby quota for the month.

We’re going to take advantage of the rest of our vacation and do a little shopping! Hope you all had a grand weekend and Mother’s Day!

Louella’s Birthday Dress

So I have been knitting, I swear. I just finished two projects today, in fact! But today I am just going to show you one. You know, so I can have something to blog about tomorrow.

So, without further ado, here is Louella’s Birthday Dress, made in honor of her 1st Birthday, which is tomorrow!

I thought the dress needed a bit of girly-ness, so I added the flower buttons.

I love it. I may end up making a sweater version of it for myself, just because the pattern is so darn cute. (Um, definitely not while I am pregnant, though.)

And for those of you who were wondering, here is the pattern link. (Raverly Link)

My mom, sister Erika and nephew Ez were in town for the weekend and I found these on my camera after they left! How cute is my nephew?

What a ham!

And a parting shot for you: We’re narrowing in on 20 weeks, and strangely enough I feel smaller than I did last week, even though horizontal stripes are supposed to make you look bigger.

Alright, I am off to the grocery store to pick up a few items to make Tortilla Soup for dinner. Yum.

Ok. So it’s been lovely here so far this month. I mean, yesterday I didn’t even wear a coat. It’s been clear skies, beautiful sunsets, warm temperatures, well, warm for Moscow in the wintertime. And then there is this morning…

BAM! More snow, this picture taken right outside my door not five minutes ago. Also, I woke up with a bloody nose. Gross.

Me and several friends just had a conversation on Sunday that went something like this:
“I think it might actually just be almost spring”
“Yeah, I don’t think it’s going to snow again this winter”
“I’ve never seen a February this nice”

Etc, etc, you get the picture. Sheesh. And the bad thing is, I actually have things I need to get done today, places to go, people to see… I am hoping that my car will be ok, but since the majority of the roads have already been driven on I should probably be fine. But STILL. Ew. I am ready for spring. But today will be good. I’ve got these:

And cute Primroses from my husband that are making my house look very cheery. And I get a haircut today! Hooray for that. I’ve been wearing it in a ponytail everyday because it has started to get mullet-y. Uh, no thank you. I swear the back of my hair grows faster than the front, and when your hair is down past your waist it doesn’t really matter, but when it’s short, well, then it matters greatly. Yes sir.

Ok. Well, I should go get going about my day. Need to make some sort of dessert for dinner with some great friends. (I loooove making dessert) and head down to the post office to mail a little something-something to my newlywed bestie. And finish working on some projects that need to be completed before babies arrive (as in, soon). Have a great snow day, Moscowvites, and have a great whatever-other-kind-of-weather-you-have day, everyone else!

Happy February.

I, for one, am glad that January is done. January is usually the most dull month (at least for me) , and while some exciting things have happened so far in the new year (obviously) I am always ready to move on. So, Happy February. I’m sort of halfheartedly looking for a job, and I’ve got a few prospects (and a second interview tomorrow) but it’s nothing that I’m super psyched about, but I think it’d be good for me to do something and keep myself busy until the baby comes, otherwise I’m likely to go crazy, especially since orders have dropped off a lot since the holidays.

Since I have nothing crafty to show you, I will just show you pictures from the wedding I was in last weekend. It was truly lovely, and I was so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful event.

Finally Home!

I just got home this afternoon, and boy am I glad to be back on my own couch. I absolutely love visiting Tacoma, but there’s just something about being at your own house after being gone for a while that really makes you appreciate your own couch. So, I’m just popping in to say hello and I’ll be back later (maybe tomorrow? Maybe not…) with pictures of the wedding and fun stuff, but for now I will leave you with this picture from the rehearsal dinner.

Hilary can back me up on this one, this was the most delicious chocolate cake I’ve ever had in my life! Yum! I’m still dreaming about it…

Happy Birthday, Charissa!

Today is one of my very, very bestest friends birthday! The big 25!

Charissa and I have been on so many adventures together!

from our Canadian Thanksgiving celebrations to traveling to Europe (twice!)

Our wonderful summers in Montana, and trip to California

And who can forget the delicious Fair Scones!

You’re the bestest bestie that anyone could ask for!

Happy Birthday!

New Years Eve, Moscow Style.

We went on an icy snow walk today, and it was so very chilly out! Tonight it’s supposed to get to negative 8 degrees! Not a good night to be out partying, I guess.

And here are some highlights from our snow-walk across a very deserted campus.

Well, we are going to make some coffee and head over to our friends Bess and Bryan’s and see if we can stay away until New Years Day!

Happy New Years, everyone! Remember to check back tomorrow for an awesome giveaway and a blog party (not really a blog party, but that does sound fun, no?) to celebrate my 3rd Blogiversary!
