This has been a funny month. Sam has gotten four teeth! His bottom two middle ones, and his top two outer teeth. He looks like a little vampire! It’s pretty hilarious. We saw the endocrinologist and she confirmed that nothing was wrong with Sam, at least metabolically. However, his weight loss does seem to be due to his GERD. We are still trying to get approval from insurance to try a different medication, hopefully that will make a difference, however he has gained two pounds this month.(Up to just over 16lbs!) TWO POUNDS! That’s a huge, huge, huge improvement! He is now officially on the charts, in the 2nd percentile. He has also taken a few unassisted steps! He’s cruising around furniture constantly, he never likes to sit still and really loves to be “walking” holding onto my fingers. His personality is coming out more and more and he is hilarious! He likes to talk to us, he babbles a lot and I am so curious as to what he’s trying to tell us! He’s also doing really well with food, he loves just about everything we’ve given him (except peas and avacado!) He’s been eating more table foods and is really interested in what mom and dad are eating.

We are really looking forward to what Sam will be like with a little brother or sister, his personality is growing every day and he is such a joy to our family!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable Independence Day!

Sam and I broke out our matching outfits, including some red shoes!

We went out with some friends and ate a lot of dessert and watched some great fireworks. It was a lot of fun, even though Sam was not a huge fan of the fireworks. But once I got him in the MobyWrap and snuggled tight he was fine.

I forgot to get any pictures while we were hanging out with friends, but you know it’s a good time when you look at your phone and you realize nearly three hours have passed!

Thanks for the invite and party, Abra! We had a great time.

Rasta-Beanie, Take Two.

The first rasta-beanie apparently wasn’t enough rasta for the customer and he wanted another one!

Oh my goodness, this one gave me such a headache. It really shouldn’t have been that hard, but pregnancy brain makes even the simplest things difficult, you know?

I guess it is more of a beret? Anyway, I finally figured out it had to knit it intarsia style, and knit it flat. Gah! It took me a long time to figure that out, but once I did it was pretty simple. However, having six skeins of yarn that I was working with was kind of a nightmare! They got all tangled and it was pretty slow going trying to get that all sorted out.

That’s the hat inside out, obviously. I think it looks kind of cool.

But now I know how to knit an intarsia style beanie, knit flat. In case anyone wants to know…

Stegosaurus Beanie!

A stegosaurus beanie for a special little guy all the way in Canada! Size 2T.

I whipped this one out late Sunday night. I stayed up extra late just to make sure I could get it in the mail yesterday. I sometimes forget that I need to go to bed early because Sam doesn’t sleep in just because mama is tired. So mama took a nap while Sam napped, always a good choice.

Do you have any special plans for tomorrow?

Go Vandals!

An adult sized Vandal Helmet!

For a real-student Vandal!

This is consistently one of my favorite patterns to make, and it was fun to make in adult size, too. It was my first time making it adult sized!

But now a certain little dude needs some attention, and mama needs some lunch.

Go Vandals!

Turquoise Dress

Here is the dress to go with the diaper cover and hat. I just realized the pictures I got are not very good, but hey, I was in a hurry before Sam’s  little hands tried to ‘help out’ with picture taking.

And here is the whole outfit together.

Diaper Cover

Part of a big order (hat, dress, diaper cover). Now that I know how to make these, I might be making a bunch of wool ones for our Tiny Tong #2! I think they’re adorable. It’s a bit too big for Sam to model, so you just get to see the shots of it alone. Sorry. I know it’s not nearly as fun to see pictures of knitted baby stuff laying on the floor.

It’s got this great ribbing in the area between the legs making it nice and stretchy and sure to fit for a long time.

And the nice thing is, you can add any kind of ruffles or whatever you want to the backside of it. If we have a girl I am definitely adding ruffles to the butt. I can’t think of anything cuter than ruffle-butts on baby girls!

I’ll post the rest of the outfit tomorrow, so you can see the dress, hat and cover all together. I think it’s mighty cute!

Some videos!

We had spaghetti last night, and Sam loved it! His first time eating noodles.

And Sam loves getting sprayed with the water bottle…very strange. This was filmed about a month ago, but I forgot to upload it until this morning!

And now we are off to the pool! Sam’s first time being in the water…I’m a little nervous, but I think he’ll like it.

Pictures of Boys.

I know a lot of cute little boys.

Even if we can’t get any of them to look at the camera.

I’ve got a whole knit outfit to post (Hat, dress, diaper cover) that are ALMOST done (weaving in ends tonight!) and then I’ll try to get pictures up soon for you guys.  But until then, hopefully the pictures of Sam and Ezra and Ezra will tide you over!
