White Lemon Grass

Made another Lemon Grass hat for a Christmas order. The yarn I picked up was slightly bulkier than the green one, but I just did it on smaller needles and it turned out the right size.

It’s pretty slouchy!

Ok. Off to work! (less than a week and a half left! Oh my goodness!!)

Hammer Time!

Hammerhead shark!

Very frightening, no?

I love him!

Another one I would love to keep. But alas, he is finding another home.

I’m a pretty big fan.

Mittens.

I’m pretty excited about this.. still loving working with this yarn. So delish.

 **********************************************************

P.S. All of you who are wondering where the pattern from the mittens came from, THIS IS THE LINK TO THE MITTENS, unfortunately it’s not my pattern (I only say unfortunately because it’s a gorgeous pattern and I think the writer did a phenomenal job on these mittens, they’re absolutely beautiful!) and also I get asked about once a day where this pattern came from, so CLICK ON THIS LINK and it’ll take you to Subliminal Rabbit’s blog where she has graciously offered the pattern for free!

Sea Creatures.

Menagerie of sea creatures.

So I totally could have set them up all cute and actually made it look like I tried to take a good picture, but instead you get to see them lying on a dishtowel on my kitchen floor, because that room gets the best (only) light. No other rooms (sans bathroom) have overhead lighting (annoying) and so we only have a few lamps casting dim shadows around the other rooms, and since I get home after dark, ta-da. A crappy photo for your enjoyment!

~~~~~
In other news, I will definitely be taking requests for those Christmas presents you KNOW you want for your loved ones. I mean requests of a knit/crochet kind. If you’ve got a specific idea, email me, lemme know, we can work something out. (Regular sized animals/fish/sea creatures/lamb/elephant/turtle/whatevs! I am selling for $10, smaller ones for $7, plus $2 for shipping, if you’re out of the area, or you can just get them from me next time I am in town, if you are a Tacomaite)
Ok. Off to knit a whale.
More iPod Cases
They’re just so fun I can’t stop making them. They take so little time to complete that it’s almost ridiculous. (I cranked out 2 tonight while watching Project Runway) and they’re so fun. I can’t believe I’m actually making money on something I’m knitting!
I swear I am done showing them to you… maybe. But keep the orders coming, people, because I am having a great time making these!
iPod Cozies
This may be (maybe not?) my last post about iPod cozies. I just wanted to let you all know that I am going to be taking orders for them, if anyone is interested! If you have a specific color in mind, (or two, or three!) let me know and I will do my best to incorporate whatever color you’d like! And if you do want one, just let me know and then email me your address and I will get to work and send it to you once completed.
I know I’ve put up several pictures already, but here are a few for reference.
If you are local, the cost is $5, if you are out of the area I will make it and mail it to you for $6.
Email me at lexikaye (@) gmail.com for any questions or to place an order!
Starfish
I made a starfish!
I wasn’t thrilled with him, but I guess that’s what happens when you don’t have a pattern. Things get… weird.
He’s got a bit of a smirky face, which I wasn’t really going for, but I got 1/2 way done embroidering the smile on, and just decided to leave it!
Giveaway!
That’s right, folks, it’s time for another giveaway. And wouldn’t you know it, I’m doing another kid sweater! This one, however is gender neutral! I am totally in love with this sweater, it’s pretty darn cute, if I may say so!
If it wins and it’s going to a little girl, I might even be inclined to knit up a little rosette or something to go on it, so it might seem a little more feminine.
The sweater is approximately 18m-24m size, although it’s a stretchy knit, so it is kind of hard to tell. And, it’s machine washable! That’s always a plus with kids clothes, I hear.
RULES:
So you know the rules- you can enter by:
1. Leaving a comment, telling me how much you want this!!
Another iPod cozy
I made this one for a girl at work, I made this one out of cotton, so it will be a bit more durable
I call it “Bubblegum”
Pattern:
Cast on 28 stitches
Split onto 3 DPN’s
Knit in the round until it’s about 1/4 inch longer than your iPod (or iPhone)
Bind off 14 stitches.
On remaining 14 stitches knit 4 rows stockinette stitch
K2t on each end on every knit row for 3 rows (you should have 8 stitches)
Knit in stockinette stitch for 6 rows
Knit 3, bind of 2 stitches, knit 3
Purl 3, add 2, knit 3
Knit these 8 stitches in stockinette stitch for 4 more rows.
Bind off all stitches, weave in loose ends.
On bottom, sew together the open bottom end of the iPod cozy.
-Tip: While knitting in the round, feel free to switch colors as often as you want. I don’t cut and attach the yarn when I do stripes, I just pull it behind my knitting and let it lay there while I am doing another color, this saves a LOT of time, and it is a big ugly on the inside, but there are alot less ends to tie in, plus less knots to tie!
-Tip: If you want to do it ribbed just k2P2 the entire pattern, swapping colors as wanted.
On the pink and blue one I used Peaches and Cream, just because I had it on hand, but the cotton seems to work really well for this sort of thing, and holds up well to frequent use!
Testing, testing, 123.
Ok. So this might seem a little random, but I was wondering if any of you out there would be willing to test knit some patterns for me. You know, just to see if there’s any glaring mistakes and things like that. Since I made them up, I might not explain them very well, things like that. I’d be willing to give you the yarn to work with, if you didn’t want to use up any of your stash of yarn.
Patterns needing testing currently are of my Elephant, Turtle and the Ewok.
It wouldn’t be a big deal if you couldn’t finish them, but if there was anyone out there who wanted to give it a try, that would be super helpful for me! You can either just leave a comment here, letting me know which pattern you’d like to try, or email me at lexikaye (@) gmail (.) com and I can send you the pattern.
