Lots of things handmade.

Shalom update:
Done with bodice, 1/2 way through one sleeve. The sleeves are the hardest part to keep going on…you feel like you should be done already! But it’s still fun to work on.

Those crochet flower holders I was thinkin’ about making.. I tried a prototype. Turned out alright, but not quite how I wanted it.

I’ll definitly be making more, though. Hopefully for a wedding coming up this July (yipee!)

Also, been crafting a little for the besties. Although it’s a suprise and they’re not allowed to know what it is yet. But it’s knit and it’s got buttons, which automatically makes it awesome. Wanna see a sneak peak?

I love buttons.

And I decided since I had yarn all over the living room, I’d make it a bit tidier and I ended up really liking the look it made:

Sometimes I feel bad for Paul with all the knitting needles and crochet hooks I accidentally leave on the couch, just waiting for someone to sit on, and yarn trailed around the living room…

Ok. Off to do some other Saturday fun stuff.

Christmas Cheer

It’s very Christmasy over at the Tong residence these days.

I realized that I never really took many pictures of the rest of the decorations, shame on me, for our first Christmas together, too! I’m a terrible wife. At least terrible about documenting anyway, at least it got decorated!

Our teensy tree. It’s super tiny, but we loaded it down with ornaments. We actually spent this evening with P’s parents looking through old boxes or ornaments and trying to figure out which ones were his. We came home with a pretty cute assortment of random old ornaments (Including a glass Energizer Bunny?)

Some Christmassy lighting

I also made another set of snowflakes for an ornament exchange at work

*** Don’t forget, there are still 2 more days to enter into the giveaway if you haven’t still!***

Brr and yikes.

It’s cold here. I mean, really cold here. Like, possibly in the negative degrees this week. Today it was 7. Yes, 7 degrees. Brr! We woke up to a pretty thick sheet of ice INSIDE the windows.

Ok, so it’s kind of pretty, but really? INSIDE?

Knitty Button, now complete with labels!

This morning as I perused the shelves of Michael’s I was still really unsure about how I wanted my tags to look, for the stuff that’s now in the Storm Cellar, and I initally was thinking about printing something off, maybe in a cool font, but the more I looked at the stamps I thought it might be a cool idea. So I bought some stamps and here’s what I came up with!

Aftermath of a dinner party.

So the kitchen needs a little work. My kitchen is a bit tiny for the dishes of more than 2 people.

And since everyone was posting nice, lovely, fall pictures I’ll show you what it looks like outside our front door right now:
fall 001

The twin trees in our front yard that so lovingly shaded us from the intense summer sun have now begun to drop all of their leaves and spiky things that get caught in your shoes and what we’re pretty sure are chestnuts… a sticky, crumbly mess! Some poor little kid riding down our sidewalk on his bike biffed it pretty hard when he hit one of the round little chestnuts, flying face-first onto the pavement, but I’m pretty sure the leaves broke his fall a little bit.

Catch up

So I am at home sick today so maybe I’ll catch up on this blogging nonsense. I really am a terrible blogger, and the more I read other people’s blogs the less inspired I am to actually blog.

Well, we had our first ever houseguests this past weekend! Charissa and Autumn came to visit and we had a grand ol’ time.

We went to the Farmer’s Market,

Got all dressed up for church,

And they helped me decorate the apartment some! Always good to have another set of eyes (or two!) helping out with decorating!

Apartment

Our house! We are the second story.

apartment 008
The kitchen, which is tidier and more organized now.

apartment 039
Living room shelves. Oh yes.

apartment 012
The instrument windowseat.

apartment 016
Part of the bedroom

apartment 018
Teensy cute bathroom with a retarded shower
apartment 036
My little window garden!

So that is the apartment. I took the pictures last week, so things have been a little bit more organized and put together. But we’re totally in love with this apartment, it’s even better than I remembered it being! And now with all of our stuff in it, it’s even better!

If you want more pictures, check out Facebook. If you don’t have Facebook, then be patient, I’ll put some up on Picasa later on.

Pictures of the house are coming soon! Things just aren’t put away all the way yet. But we’re getting close!
