Nigel wearing his sweater and Bess’s dress

A little flippy, but that’s ok.

A lot blurry, but that’s ok too, I just got a picture of him wearing it, which is what I wanted.

And the dress for Bess’s baby girl

which I FINALLY got a picture of. I am kind of ridiculous, I forget to take pictures of things before I give them away!

New Couch

We were somewhat short on seating in the living room, but also short on space, but I found this awesome little couch at the Salvation Army, that fits just perfectly into the space right by the stairs.

(Don’t mind the unpacked boxes right next to it… we’re working on it)

And my crafting station is almost complete! I will be sure to post a picture of it as soon as I hang the pictures up on the wall.

Market Flowers

Every week I look at the beautiful flower arrangements at the farmers market, but never buy them. I guess I’m stingy or something, but when I saw this peony arrangement and had to bring it home with me.

These are some large peonies.

And they’ve got lots of unopened buds, so hopefully they’ll continue to open throughout the week.

and I haven’t figured out a place to put all my plants, so they’re all just chilling in the windowsill in the kitchen.

A DIY: Soap Sack

So for todays DIY we’ve got something that might seem a little strange, but I made one and I like it, so I thought I would just throw it out there in case anyone else is interested in it.

Get out your wool (it should be a natural fiber, only)
First you just knit yourself a long rectangle, about 1/2 wider than your bar of soap. I put a little cable in mine, just for fun.

Then measure it up to your soap, make sure it can wrap all the way around it.

Then simply sew it into a pocket, drop the soap in, and sew up that open end.

and here you are:

And since it’s made out of the wool, it will slightly felt in the shower, and it makes good suds!

And we’re back!

Sorry for the longer-than-anticipated absence. We’re still working on getting my computer hooked up to the internet (you know, the computer with all my pictures and projects stored on it) so it’s been kind of a deterrent for blogging. So I finally gave up and decided to just to it on Pauls computer. We’re still working on getting the boxes unpacked, and as soon as we do that I will show you pictures of our lovely house. But until then you’ll just have to see what I’ve been making.

So, we had another round of baby showers this weekend, and again, I forgot to take a picture of Bess’s before it was wrapped and shipped off. So, you can see what 1/2 of it looked like, and that’s this:

So once it was finished it looked more like this (the original pattern):

And then some more baby-old-man sweaters:
The purple for Afton’s baby girl, and the brown for Emily’s baby boy, so the cute cousins can be matching.

And then I’ve been making another green dress, not for any one in particular, but this is a toddler size, so I am not sure who it will fit, but I am sure I can find a taker.

It’s a nice soft green color. Quite pretty, really.

Well, I best be off to unpack more boxes, but I will be back later this evening with a fun DIY!

Baby Sweater

Two down, two to go. Most recently finished:

And good thing, this next baby shower is tomorrow morning.

I’ll keep you posted on the rest of them.

Baby-Sweater-Fest

I haven’t been blogging, we’ve been busy, but mostly for the reason that we’re having a lot of upcoming baby showers, and I’ve been knitting up baby sweaters like crazy. A little taste:
and also I need a bit of help. Which buttons would you use?

Another one:
and also I need some help. The buttons will be on the top, fastening the neck opening. Are the flowers a bit too cutesy? When in doubt the plainer is a bit better, however, the flowers are pretty darn cute.

And another work in progress.
It’s currently in the blocking process. There will be a big collar, a similar one to I made for Ezra a while back. Kind of an old-man type sweater. I love it.

And this was our yard sale score! There weren’t many good sales on Saturday, but this one we found in our FRONT YARD! The girl who lives upstairs was having a yard-sale, and it’s still residing in our kitchen, because of the move we’ve got nowhere to put it, but hopefully it’ll be our new nightstand for the bedroom.

And it’s got my birthday flowers on it!

So go back and let me know which buttons I should use for the sweaters!

More Birthday goodies!

One of my very bestest friends, Autumn, soon to be wed, made these Scrabble Pillows for Paul and I! Aren’t they ADORABLE?! I LOVE them. They are so cute, sitting on our couch.

She made them herself! She painted on the letters with fabric paint, and sewed them and everything! What crafty friends I have.

They make me want to start up a Scrabble competition with the hubby right now!

and Charissa got me some lovely office stuff, and made me a cute flower bracelet! And she even has a DIY up on her blog, so you can make your own!

What amazing friends I have!

Nigel’s Hoodie

Making another hoodie, this time for baby Nigel. What a cutie! Can’t wait for the baby shower. Making it the same pattern as I made the hoodie for Ezra.

So, it will basically be like this one, modeled by beautiful baby Ez, only green and with a few tweaks.

I’ll keep you updated!
