My Boys!

Due to there being a lot of snow this week, we spent a lot of time just hanging out at home. Sam enjoyed getting his parents undivided attention.

Sam sure does make some entertaining faces!

I love seeing Sam play with his dad, it’s so great to see how much they love each other.

Sam was watching a football game from up there on his little perch on dad’s head. He loves sitting way up high!

He also likes to use his dads wrist as a teething toy. Yum.

This kid makes the best faces, right?

Just wanted to show off some pictures of my boys, I got pretty lucky, right?

Infinity Scarf

I’ve been really into chunky knits lately…. half of my Pinterest account is chunky knits, lately. So when I got an order for a Black Infinity scarf and the woman who ordered it let me have a little creative freedom I thought for sure I wanted to do a chunky knit.

So here are some very bad self portrait pictures of my extremely pale face.

But this is an extremely warm scarf. I think once I catch up on my orders I might need to make myself one!

Alright- back to the grind (The grind being more knitting!)

Norwegian Sweet Baby Hat

Another custom hat order! For someone with a bit bigger of a head than Sam. (He’s got a tiny head, apparently)

Sam wasn’t thrilled about being used as a model for the third time this week.

Ah, look at those cheeks. I just want to gobble them up every day.

We’re still teething over here, which isn’t very fun, but hoping those teeth pop through soon so we can get over this crying slobberfest over here!

Vandal Helmet II

Another Vandal Helmet for a custom order!

Sam is a little under the weather (Again) but hey, we’re working through it.

We got lots and lots of snow this week! So we’ve been a little cooped up.

Sam seems to do better when we get out of the house, but it’s just been so very icky outside that we haven’t wanted to get bundled.

But I suppose that’s just what happens in the winter in Moscow.

And just a note, to those of you who are waiting on orders- I am a bit backed up with them, but they ARE getting worked on. Since Sam has been sick there hasn’t been as much time for knitting, so do not worry, they are coming, I promise!

Cousins!

Samuel got to meet his cousin Iris this week!

She’s only a couple weeks older than Sam!

Iris gave Sam this ball for Christmas, and they both love it!

And Grandma Gloria made him some bib-bandanas! So cute, right?

Sam tried to eat the ball, but Iris kept getting it right out from underneath him.

Uncle Phil got some double-baby-holding experience. It does take some skill!

Both of the babies look a little grumpy here, but it was past both of their bedtimes. But they were both pretty happy, I swear!

But we couldn’t for the life of us get a picture of them looking in the same direction. Hah!

Isn’t she just a little scrumptious nugget? I love her! So glad that she and Sam could meet!

Gerald Giraffe

A custom order for a giraffe

I am having a hard time parting with this guy… he’s really endeared himself to me.

I should probably write up this pattern, too. But I am so backed up with orders right now, so it’ll probably be a while before I do any pattern writing.

He has a curious face, I think.

He’s a lot taller than I meant him to turn out. He’s well over a foot tall!

Alright, back to knitting. I’ve got 23 orders to catch up on!

Samuel’s Baptism

While we were in Tacoma for Christmas Samuel got baptized! We had it done at my home church, by Pastor Rayburn on Christmas Morning, and it was lovely.

He was baptized with water from the Jordan River!

And if any of you are curious about Sam’s baptismal gown, that was ALSO made by my mom! She’s so crafty (I wonder where I get it, right?) Here’s a close up:

She knows what I like, that woman!

I need to get Sam to make his pouty face so we can get him in his baptismal gown next to my picture of me in my baptismal gown.

Samuel’s Blanket!

My mom used to make these name blankets for kids that were born in our extended family. She hasn’t made them in a while, but I requested that one of Sam’s Christmas presents to be his very own name blankie, because I love them so much.

My mom picked the perfect colors of green that match his crib bedding!

Isn’t it beautiful? I really love it.

Chocolate Guinness Espresso Cake

I made a cake. And it was delicious.

It was my first time making a ganache frosting and it turned out pretty well, in my very humble opinion.

I made it for a church dinner that we attended last Friday night. The grandparents watched Sam so we could have some grownup time, and it was nice to get a little bit dressed up and eat dinner without bouncing a baby on my knee! But Sam did get to help make the cake, too, so he didn’t feel too left out.
