Weekending

So, my sisters Erika and Heidi, my mom, Ezra and my brothers girlfriend Cynthia got to come hang out this weekend. And it was awesome. It was a less-than-24 hour trip, but I enjoyed it so much!

My nephew is a lot of fun to hang out with.

We went to the Farmers market, The Storm Cellar, and made pizza.

I got two HUGE bunches of basil! They were only $3.oo a bunch, so I got all they had, planning on making some killer pesto tomorrow.

And I had to move all of my succulents inside since it is getting really cold out at night here. But as of right now I have nowhere to put them, so they, too, are on the kitchen table.

It’s getting a bit crowded in there.

And, just because I can, here is a parting shot of my nephew eating the pizza we made for lunner (lunch/dinner).

Indoor Plants

Since the weather is rapidly getting colder, I am wondering what I am going to do with all my succulents.

They can’t really fend for themselves under 3 feet of snow this winter. So I was thinking about some kind of table near my window, so they can still get a little bit of light. I am loving the pictures below… I might need to go thrifting sometime soon to get a hold of a cool table.

Sea Creatures.

Menagerie of sea creatures.

So I totally could have set them up all cute and actually made it look like I tried to take a good picture, but instead you get to see them lying on a dishtowel on my kitchen floor, because that room gets the best (only) light. No other rooms (sans bathroom) have overhead lighting (annoying) and so we only have a few lamps casting dim shadows around the other rooms, and since I get home after dark, ta-da. A crappy photo for your enjoyment!

In other news, I will definitely be taking requests for those Christmas presents you KNOW you want for your loved ones. I mean requests of a knit/crochet kind. If you’ve got a specific idea, email me, lemme know, we can work something out. (Regular sized animals/fish/sea creatures/lamb/elephant/turtle/whatevs! I am selling for $10, smaller ones for $7, plus $2 for shipping, if you’re out of the area, or you can just get them from me next time I am in town, if you are a Tacomaite)

Ok. Off to knit a whale.

More fish in the sea

I made a few more fish.

This guys is really tiny. He’s a little mud fish.

And another regular sized one.

His top fin is kind of big and floppy.

He’s a Waldo fish, I guess.

And just for comparison, so you can see how tiny the mudfish is.

Carrot Top

Ok, question. I always end up with all these carrot tops… I am getting conflicting information online. Some say they’re poisonous, but others post recipes of what to make with them! Have any of you ever used carrot tops for anything?

(carrot tops)

Other than that, I got a good haul at the Farmers Market today. Tons of good fall things.. lots of gourds, pumpkins, apple cider, mmm. I could have spent our monthly allotment for food there this morning…

(R to L: , braided loaf, Butterhead lettuce, green beans, gourds, carrots, apples.)

Check out that gourd in the back left. It’s the craziest gourd I’ve ever seen. I love it!

More iPod Cases

They’re just so fun I can’t stop making them. They take so little time to complete that it’s almost ridiculous. (I cranked out 2 tonight while watching Project Runway) and they’re so fun. I can’t believe I’m actually making money on something I’m knitting!

I swear I am done showing them to you… maybe. But keep the orders coming, people, because I am having a great time making these!
