Red Sweater

I guess I never showed the finished product of the infamous red sweater! So, it’s huge. Like, could almost fit around me! I mean, it’s stretchy, so it wouldn’t look GOOD on me, but I might be able to button it. Anyway, here it is.

It’s sort of sloppy looking.

Well, I haven’t seen it on a kid yet, so it’s hard to tell.

Anyway, it definitely will NOT fit the kid that I made it for(long and lean), so they got something else. So, it’s basically up for grabs. I’d love to see someone get some use out of it, because this thing was a LOT of work and I’d hate to see it just sitting in my craft room.

SO! If you want it, let me know! This is BETTER than a giveaway, because the first person to claim it gets it. I’ll even ship it to you, free of charge. See how nice I am?

So, this one didn’t quite turn out how I wanted him to, but hopefully you will still love him! So here is the giveaway!

He is a long-lanky Lamby! I made the legs and arms a bit too long!

(And behind him you can see the only two plants that survived our vacation! I forgot to get someone to water them, so only the succulents and our cactus survived!)

Some odds and ends

I just want to take a moment to re-direct you over to Kissa’s blog, where she is chronicling our wonderful trip to Europe last spring. Complete with our itinerary and amazing pictures! You’re definitly going to want to check that out.

Also, just discovered the line Nkuku. I pretty much want it all!
Makes me want to take a nice picnic in the park. It’s been so lovely around here.

Also, check out this kitchenware. So completely adorable!

 And these bowls! They kill me.

We’ve had sunshine and warm weather since we Sunday and it’s just been lovely, we took a walk this evening, and now it’s nearing 7:00 pm and it’s still so sunny outside! I can’t wait for spring to begin, and the Farmer’s Market to start back up, we need some more good cheap produce!

And don’t forget: only one more day to enter the Give-Away. I may be inclined to add some extra little treats into this package, so be sure to enter! Also, if you use any of my D-I-Y’s, please send me a picture, I’d LOVE to see what you’ve come up with.

A DIY and a Giveaway

So, a combined post- a DIY and a Giveaway. First, I will show my DIY. Ruffly Headband!

You will need:
Scissors
Aprox 1/8th yard of lightweight fabric
A Ribbon
Needle and thread

Cut 10 of the fabric into squares roughly 3 inches across and 10 into roughly 4 inches across. Sizes don’t really matter, really, the rough edges add to it’s charm.

Then fold those squares into quarters:

Trim them round, don’t be afraid to cut off quite a bit of fabric, you don’t want the ruffles too big.

Once you’ve cut them all into rounded quarters they should look something like this:

Then take one of the squares, pinch it up like so:

Then take one of your other squares, and pinch it around the outside of that one:

Then starting somewhere around the center of the ribbon sew it laying flat:

There are about 10 ‘flowers’ on my headband, sew them sort of pointing alternative directions, to give it lot of fullness.

Sew them all on, and tada, a ruffly headband!
