Boys in a tub.

Or in a sink, I guess. Sam has recently decided that he can sit on his own, and this has greatly improved his quality of life!

He is so much happier now that he can sit and play on his own.

And he’s figured out how to splash, too!

He’s making some huge strides these last few weeks, it’s been incredible to see him figure things out and then be able to actually DO them, like rolling both ways (nothing is safe in our house anymore!) and his finger dexterity and now, sitting like a pro!

Hanging out

Nothing too exciting to show you all, we’re just hanging out in Tacoma- keeping busy- seeing family, friends and getting lots of knitting done while there are plenty of willing hands to play with Sam.

Here’s just a few snapshots of our week:

Sam and Giraffe

Are you bored of the giraffes, yet? I kind of am. hah.

I think the giraffes are especially great for little babies, because they have the little horns and ears to chew on, as well as a long neck which is easy for them to grab. Sam just adores the giraffes I’ve made for other kids. And he’s slobbered on a few of them (sorry, guys). But I am glad they are such a hit- I think they’re one of my favorite knit animals!

Pebbles Vest

A custom order for a Green/Blue Pebbles Vest.

And a very excitable little baby boy.

I think he gets bored with the constant photo shoots. Sorry, dude, but when you are still young and I can still dress you up, you’re just gonna have to suffer through it!

Vandals!

Another Vandal Helmet! This time made with Blue Wings. Not sure why, but hey, I just do what the customer asks!

Also, Sam is challenging you to a staring contest. He will win.

A squirmy lil’ model!

Also, if you are wondering, that’s what our couch looks like without it’s slip cover. Fancy, huh?

Baby Popsicle!

So Sam has been teething pretty badly the last few weeks, stuffing everything into his mouth and whining a lot, chewing on his hands, drooling like crazy, you know, fun times, right? So in addition to his Baltic Amber Teething Necklace we are using Hylands Teething Tablets (He absolutely LOVES those things!) I started giving him some “baby popsicles”, which is just frozen breastmilk crunched up a little and put into this little mesh feeder, so he can chew on it and soothe his poor little inflamed gums!

He really seemed to like it!

Someone recently asked if I would update about the amber teething necklace, and I do have to say that I think it’s made a big difference! He drools a lot less and is noticeably less whiny when he is wearing it! I forgot to put it on him one morning, and it took me until 2 that afternoon to realize why he was being so fussy! I put it on and within an hour or so he had calmed down and was back to his silly little self. And as a bonus, I think it just looks so darn cute on him!

Easter Bunny Hat

So, Sam is wearing his cool Halloween shirt (still fits!) to pose today for you. A custom order for an Easter Bunny Hat!

I think Sam makes a pretty cute Easter Bunny!

Also, Sam and I (as of yesterday afternoon!) are in Tacoma for a week and a half, so posting might be a bit light so we can enjoy our trip and spend lots of time hanging out with family!

Winter Whites

Sam is kindly modeling a hat I made for a new baby of our friend Megan, welcome baby Penny!

Always gotta have the fingers in the mouth. Always.

Well, unless we are rubbing our eyes because it’s past naptime.

I’m a mean mom, making my kid stay up past his nap so I can get a photo shoot in. Hah!

A New Winter Hat

It’s still pretty cold here in Idaho, and Sam was outgrowing most of his newborn size hats. So I whipped up a chunky knit blue and brown hat.

It’s really nice and thick, so it keeps his head toasty warm!

Paul has the day off (Yay for Presidents Day!) So we’ve spent the day hanging out, running errands and doing our taxes.  Happy Monday!

Sam!

We’ve been trying out some solid foods with Sam and he absolutely loves his food! He grabbed some peas off of my plate a few weeks back and stuffed them in his mouth before I could stop him, and he started whining a LOT everytime Paul or I would eat anything, and he would lunge towards anything we were eating… that was when I decided he was ready to try out a little bit of food.

So far he’s tried carrots, peas and sweet potatoes and some baby oatmeal. He’s loved everything we’ve given him! He tries to drink water out of my cup, too. He is starting to put on a little more weight, and we are having fun making baby food too!
