Weekending

Ahh, I jinxed it! 101 degrees yesterday, just to spite me!

But today, today is Saturday and that means rummage sales and blueberries at the Farmers Market. (And when we get home, we’re making Strawberry-Blueberry waffles. Yummmm)

And todays weather forcast is much nicer than yesterday,

Cloudy 63 Degrees.

I can do that.

Dinner

Grilled chicken, grilled onions and green peppers in olive oil, fried on a tortilla with cheese, topped with fresh avocado and sour cream.

I think I gained 5 pounds last night.

I can’t usually think of good titles.

July 027

So I haven’t been the most exciting blogger as of late, and for that I am sorry. Let’s face it, I’ve never been a good blogger. (I initially wrote that as ‘blooger’ and almost left it because it looks so funny) anyhow, but just a quick update, we’ve just been settling in to the house, getting more things hung up around the apartment, many trips to Bed, Bath and Beyond, spending ridiculous amounts of money at the supermarket (yikes.), getting caught in rainstorms in the country, and just generally having a great time.

Settling into my new job…ish. We’re still on the fence, but for now it’s alright. I’m not entirely sure that it is the place for me right now, it’s a little high stress and my stomach ulcers have decided to resurface (and I just don’t dig that) so we will see, but for now I am just excited about going home next weekend and FAMILY REUNION! (You’re all jealous, I know. Except.. I think that 3/4 of the people reading this blog will be there anyway. Oh well.) Can’t miss that orthodontis appointment on Monday morning, either.

Paul has been taking me on drives around the Palouse, seeing some of the sights. There are so many cool farms around this area! All the pictures in this post were from our excursion on Saturday to Uniontown and Colton, about 30 minutes away. We had lunch in a little corner saloon and shopped at some antique stores.

In love that in Uniontown the Fire Station, Library and Townhall are all in one building!

Update

Hello everyone! Sorry I’ve been silent, but you know, I did have an excuse. Also, we don’t have internet at home yet, so that’s my other excuse, other than just being married.

So things are getting set up nicely! We’re almost all the way unpacked and things are shaping up great. In other news….

I BOUGHT A GUITAR! I am so super excited about it and it’s sooo pretty. It’s a 3/4 size, so it fits my tiny hands just perfectly. I can already play a few chords, but my husband is doing a great job of teaching me all his tricks.

As soon as we get the internet hooked up at home (hopefully that’ll happen on Monday) I’ll post some pictures of the apartment, honeymoon and guitar.

With love from Moscow,
Ali

Another blanket.

So this is one of the 5 (or is it six?!) blankets I’m working on at the moment. I just get bored with one, so I put it down, but then find another idea that I’m afraid I’ll forget about so I need to start it immediately. Then you end up with baskets full of unfinished crafts… sad, indeed.

It still hasn’t been pieced together (obviously), but I think it’ll be cute once I put a border on it, I was thinking a scalloped border might be fun, but this blanket is still small and I ran out of yarn… oops.

On another blanket note, Chuck’s baby blanket is coming along nicely! I am really pleased with it, and the ripple is so nice and fun to crochet. It just has a nice fluid motion to it. Definitely recommenced it for a crocheters first big project, super simple and easy to follow.

This is one of my favorite pictures that I took at the Imperial War Museum in London:
europe-2009-066So keep knitting, ladies!

Thanks for putting up with all of those! And for those who want more there are more here and here! Loads more. I took a lot of pictures. Like….1,400…. but don’t worry, I weeded out some. There’s only like 975 on Picasa….

Blog Lameness

Sorry for not updating in forever. Been pretty busy lately. Not alot of new craftiness to show you. Getting ready for my trip to Europe coming up here in two (!) weeks. Getting some health issues taken care of. (Just got a root canal done today, yech) Anyhow, I’ve had some really good time thrifting lately. I found some fun dishes at St. Vincents, and these place mats at the Dollar Tree.

Also, my dear sisters Erika and Heidi found me some gnomes to take to Europe with me! I am very excited, because I don’t think I’d be brave enough to steal one out of someone’s garden.

I also got to spend last weekend with Paul, which was nice. And my Valentine is crafty, too! He can cut letters in cursive! Very impressive.
