Wacky Ware Microwaveable Bowl- Nuby Review

We were given a Wacky Ware microwavable bowl to review by NUBY. It makes a great snack bowl, because it has a snap on lid so you can use it on the go, too.

Sam thinks it looks like a space ship (We’re really into Buzz Lightyear right now) so he thinks it’s pretty cool! We also like the fact that is has handles on it, which makes it a bit easier for toddler sized hands to keep hold of and not spill. (And as we all know, less spilling = less work for momma!) DSC_0052

Nuby Sea Scooper Bathtime Toy Storage

Disclosure: I am writing this post as part of the NUBY Mommy Blogger Program.  I did not receive compensation for this post, however, I did receive items to sample or review.  All opinions are 100% honest and my own.

We received this hilarious whale bathtoy scoop to review, and Sam is absolutely in LOVE with it. He calls it his “wheel” (His name for whales) and it’s now a bath time staple! I love it because it gives us a place to keep all of the bath toys in one place, and lets them dry without getting moldy or gross, and keeps them all in the tub, so they’re close at hand when we have bath time, since we don’t have a ton of bathroom storage space!

For a long time Sam had a major water phobia, so we are pretty glad he is over that now (and we usually end up having a bubble bath at least once a day, not a whole lot else to do when you’re snowed in!) and bath time is pretty much the highlight of his morning.

The only thing that we didn’t love about it was the sticky thing you use to hang it. It fell off the wall within a few days, so we had to reattach it with more sticky tape, but that didn’t stick either, so we ended up just putting a nail in the wall to hang him from, which has worked just fine.

Nuby Sure-Grip Bowl Review

Disclosure: I am writing this post as part of the NUBY Mommy Blogger Program.  I did not receive compensation for this post, however, I did receive items to sample or review.  All opinions are 100% honest and my own.

I know for a lot of parents (Paul and I included) meal-times can be stressful. Sam’s lately been going through some fun times with saying he “dun yike it” (I don’t like it), even if it’s something he asked for and has eaten 100 times before. He does seem to do better if he can eat it himself without help, and we have found that he doesn’t like having the tiny forks or spoons, and would rather use full size ones. This Nuby Sure-Grip bowl is great because it won’t slide around on the table, which makes scooping up his food a lot easier than it is with our full-size bowls, or with the really tiny lightweight plastic bowls which tip over if you put any pressure on the side of the bowl.

The deepness of the bowl is really helpful, too, it means less spills. Sam is not a fan of spills- he gets very anxious if something spills on the table, or on his clothes, so anything we can do to avoid spilled food is good in my book.

It also works pretty well as a snack cup, because the side has the logo on it, which makes it pretty easy to grip. We still prefer the Snack Keepers for around the house for smaller snacks like cheerios or goldfish crackers, but when he has something like chips or bigger crackers this bowl is perfect.

Clik-It No Spill Cup! (And Angry Birds!)

*Disclosure: As a Nuby Mommy Blogger, I was given items from Nuby to write honest reviews about them. All opinions are 100% my own. *

We recieved a Nuby Clik-it No Spill cup to review. Sam loves it. It is especially great for night-time water, because it hasn’t leaked or spilled once since we got it. We had been used the straw-sippies (which Sam also liked, but were harder to clean, and if the straw was bent it would drip, which is no good for on-the-go.) The Clik-it is great for throwing in your diaper bag because no matter the angle it won’t leak at all! We’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now, and no spills, even when dropped from the kitchen table onto the linoleum floor.

DSC_6978 Sam also likes the fact that it has rocket ships on it. He thinks that’s pretty cool. Another big plus is that instead of just the mark on the side (A few cups we’ve had before had a little arrows, added on after the cup was made) to know it’s shut, this one makes an audible ‘click’ noise when it’s fully closed, which is great, because I’ve found the painted on arrows of other cups have gotten washed off and then you’re not sure exactly when it’s closed.

NUBYAnd in knitting news:

My Nephew is into Angry Birds, so I decided to make him an Angry Birds hat for Christmas!

Sam was being a pretty funny model for me! I couldn’t get the eye brows and eyes right knit, so I decided to use felt, and I think that captured the “Angry Bird” better than knit eyes.

Nuby Easy Clean Bib Review

Disclosure: As a Nuby Mommy Blogger, I was given these products in exchange for an honest review of them. All opinions are 100% my own.

Most of Sam’s bibs were too small for him, and didn’t quite cover much of his shirt, so dinner time was pretty messy. Especially now that it’s cold and we are eating a lot of soups, which is one of Sam’s favorite things to eat. I was thrilled when Nuby let me pick out several products to review, and instantly knew I was going to be trying out their Easy-Clean Bibs! It’s made of Waterproof Vinyl, which keeps their clothes dry and clean, and has an easy-release Velcro closure around the neck (Which I prefer over the ones that tie), and a crumb catching pocket so little bits don’t end up in his lap!

We were pretty impressed, as it kept his clothes dry, even while eating some tomato soup! If that isn’t the sign of a good bib, I don’t know what is!  Available at these retailers: Blain’s Farm & Fleet and JC Penney.
