More Ice?

We got back to Moscow and the ice and snow had only gotten worse while we were gone. I’m pretty much homebound since my car isn’t exactly snow-worthy.

Today I walked downtown to go to run a few errands, ended up slipping and falling flat on my back, spilling my coffee as I did so. Lovely, really. To my amazement no one even saw me fall, so at least it wasn’t horribly embarrassing.

So that icicle above is about 14 feet long. It’s a really, really long icicle. I am sort of afraid it’s going to fall and kill someone. (I am staying far away from that one)

And the forecast is predicting snow all week. (Do you like my awesome hat? I stole it from my husband!)

Tonight (after unpacking… maybe) I will begin the Christmas decorations! I am so excited about Christmas decorations… I wanted to put them up before we left for Texas, but that was vetoed.

So, cheers to being homebound. I’ve got some more knitting to do anyway…..

Ice!

So while we were in Texas (we just got home this evening, hooray!) Paul’s dad took us to see the Ice! Exhibit at the Gaylord Texan (A huge resort near Dallas). Guys, let me just say, this was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen!

The theme was “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and these were all made out of blocks of colored ice.

And they are really, really big. Also, you get to wear these big, blue, extremely warm parkas!

Oh, and did I mention that it was only 9 degrees in there? Brr!

My cute husband in an ice tunnel.

But wait, next was my very, very, very favorite part.

A way-bigger-than-lifesize nativity scene. It was so beautiful!

My Sister-In-Law is crafty too!

So, on Saturday my beautiful sister in law, Rennie, got married. She’s so crafty she made her own wedding dress! Seriously, look how beautiful it is!

She did such an amazing job, and it was such a beautiful wedding!

We fly home tomorrow, so more regular posting will resume then.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wedding!

I will be back later with pictures, but we just got back from Rennie’s wedding. It was lovely! We had such a good time, but we are exhausted! So we are off to veg-out for a bit!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from Knittybutton!

I’ll definitely be working on some more Christmas knitting, and hopefully eating lots of stuffing.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and those of you in Washington and Idaho please stay warm!!

Starfish

Once again, my husband steals the show with his awesome photography skills.

I think I’ll have to take a picture of all of the animals I’ve made so far all together in one big underwater zoo. The list of little animals is just growing and growing!

More Pie

I’ve been watching too much Pushing Daisies, I think.

I don’t know what it is, but I’ve had a sudden domestic urge lately to make a lot of pies. This one was a triple berry pie. It was pretty good topped with vanilla ice cream.

It’s time.

Yes, it’s time to put away my fall decorations, I suppose. Winter hit last night, and it hit hard.

I’m not going to lie, it makes me a little nervous since we need to drive to Spokane tonight to catch a plane early tomorrow morning.

But, we’ve got 4 wheel drive, and hopefully the roads will be plowed and there won’t be too much traffic.

But I do love the snow, it’s so pretty and makes the whole town of Moscow all glittery and pretty.

So, as you know, we’re going to Texas tomorrow morning for Pablo’s sisters wedding, so posting might be a little light this week, as I am planning on giving my poor little wrists a bit of a break from knitting, but I’ve got a few posts lined up to automatically post throughout the week, so it won’t be too quiet ’round here.

Another little turtle

I made another turtle this week for a Christmas order. I wouldn’t normally show you this, since, well, you’ve seen several of them (and I just finished another one today) but since Paul took such cute pictures of this one, well, I just had to show you. I’m fairly certain that there is some kind of story line here, although I am not entirely sure what it is.

Isn’t that adorable? I think Paul will have to do all of my photo shoots! He’s much more creative than I am.
